Caring for your
little darlings.
Many of our garments have been worn by several generations of children — the best way to treat them is with care. Please follow the below instructions to help the garment last several more!
Handwashing your garment:
-
Fill a clean basin with cool water. Mix a tablespoon of gentle laundry soap to create suds.
-
Submerge garment into soapy water and gently swish around. Then let soak for 5-10 minutes.
-
Drain basin and refill with cool water.
-
Submerge garment into clean water and gently swish around. Repeat until suds are gone.
-
Gently squeeze excess water out of garment against the side of the basin.
-
Lay the garment on a clean, dry towel, and roll them up together.
-
Unroll and lay the garment flat to dry (knits) or hang on a drying rack (wovens).
Presoaking a white cotton garment:
-
Fill a clean basin with warm water. Mix a scoop of oxygenated bleach alternative/sodium percarbonate into the water.
-
Submerge garment into mixture and gently swish around. Let soak for up to an hour.
-
Wash per handwashing instructions above.
Extra tips:
-
Always treat stains as soon as they happen.
-
If a garment is not visibly dirty, it is best to hang to air out and skip the wash.
-
Repair holes and tears before washing.
